TADA-oud-leerlingen Teresa en Nussaiba hebben deze zomer deelgenomen aan het internationale programma voor leiderschap Women2Women, dankzij de steun van de Amerikaanse ambassade.

"The sky is not even the limit, if you reach for the stars"

Teresa en Nussaiba kwamen opgewonden en vol motivatie terug uit Amerika. Ze vertelden met veel enthousiasme over hun ervaring. Ze stuurden onderstaand dankbericht aan de Amerikaanse ambassade :

"Bedankt om mijn jeugddromen waar te maken. Bedankt ook om mij te helpen in mijn ontplooing, zodat ik later een vrouwelijke leider kan worden, met positieve impact op de samenleving."  (Nussaiba)

"Het was een fantastische ervaring. Ik heb meer zelfvertrouwen gekregen en heb geleerd dat ik mezelf niet mag onderschatten. The sky is not even the limit, if you reach for the stars." (Teresa)

Mama van Teresa dankbaar

De mama van Teresa deelde haar dankbaarheid op Facebook. Hieronder kan je haar boodschap lezen:

"A few years ago, my daughter Teresa came home from primary school and told me there was a new project her amazing teacher, Monsieur Ponte thinks she should be part of. Soon I got to know more about the project "Toekomst Atelier ' founded by Sofie Foets. Sofie showed intelligent children from migrant background that nothing can stop them from reaching their potentials. They had sessions in international firms, high courts, hospitals; meeting heads of government, captains of industries and experts in different professions, who inspired them and encouraged them. Words cant really describe how great and life changing this project is." 

"After a few years, this first set of participants in the project became alumni but were still actively involved in the project. They are still asked to send in their report cards after each school exam, to check in on them and see they are maintaining excellent scores."

"So from this project my daughter now has a female engineer mentor from Total and works wednesdays helping other children with their homework."

"Then last month I was pleasantly surprised she was chosen to attend the Women2Women International Leadership Program in Boston USA; which brings together young girls with potentials from across the world to "train them in the areas of leadership development, cultural awareness, conflict resolution and civic engagement."

"As if that was not enough, the public diplomacy department of the USA Embassy in Brussels also offered scholarship that covered all the cost of this trip including the trainings and visits etc."

"I am truly grateful to the team of Toekomst -Atelier especially Emilie Tada for the great job they do. I wish more children can benefit from this. God bless you."
